Fly Forward Scholarship

The Nashville Ninety-Nines offer the Cornelia Fort Scholarship in honor of the pioneering aviator, Cornelia Clark Fort. This $1,000 scholarship supports women pursuing a career in aviation by providing funds for flight training, applicable to any rating or certificate.

About the Fly Forward Scholarship

The Nashville Ninety-Nines are excited to announce the Fly Forward Scholarship, a $5,000 award supporting a female student pilot in Tennessee pursuing initial flight training. This scholarship recognizes applicants who demonstrate commitment to becoming a pilot and view aviation as a meaningful pursuit. Funds are intended to support progress toward an initial pilot certificate (Private, Sport, or Recreational) and encourage continued participation in aviation.

This scholarship is to assist a woman towards a career in the aviation field by providing $1,000 towards flight training. The money can be used towards any rating or certificate.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

1. Female, at least 16 years old.
2. Student pilot
3. Current members of the International Ninety-Nines by the application deadline.
4. Living in, or a permanent resident of Tennessee.

New Jersey Chapter will award one $3,500 scholarship.
Criteria: Any female pilot or female student pilot eighteen years or older, training in New Jersey, who is a member of The 99s before the close of the application, is eligible to apply for the Chapter Scholarship.

Patty Mitchell Northwest Section Scholarship for $1,500, for Northwest Section members. Application and instructions can be found here.

Criteria:  This scholarship supports Oklahoma area women in aviation, including women seeking their private pilot’s certificate and those who are working toward more advanced ratings. Winning candidates have the highest committee scores for Letters of Recommendation, Responses to Application Questions, and Relevant Preparation for flying objectives.

The Orange County Ninety Nines offer up to three aviation scholarships, each for $6,000. The scholarship can be used for Private Pilot Certificate, advanced ratings, as well as Airframe and Powerplant advancement. These are open to Ninety-Nines with memberships effective November 15^th of the previous year who will train within 99nm of KSNA. Applications are due May 15^th of the current year. The Rising Star Scholarship is a $1,500 Oregon Pines labor of love intended to assist a 99 member to rise to a higher level in aviation training. We would be pleased to see it applied to a new airmen certificate, a higher certificate, additional rating or other proficiency training.

The Paradise Coast Chapter offers the Becki King Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 to be applied to flight training for any certificate (private pilot through ATP.
Criteria: Florida resident age 16 or older with a minimum of a student pilot certificate (or medical certificate appropriate for the rating sought), and documented flight training toward the rating desired. Preference will be given to an applicant who has earned a passing grade on any written test needed for that rating. The Phoenix Chapter offers the June Bonesteel Memorial Flight Training Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 for flight training.
