The Western New York Chapter of The Ninety-Nines announces the establishment of the Melanie Georger Memorial Scholarship, funded by the Georger Family in memory of Melanie Georger, a young aviatrix and 99s member whose passion for flight and aeronautical sciences left a lasting impact on those around her. This scholarship honors her dedication, ambition, and love of aviation by supporting women who are actively pursuing their own aviation goals.

The scholarship will award a minimum of one recipient annually, with individual awards up to $15,000 in total scholarship funds per year. Funds may be used for primary or advanced flight training, including flight hours and check ride preparation, with eligible expenses incurred between June 1, 2026 and May 31, 2027.

Applicants must be female pilots or student pilots, at least 18 years of age, current members of The Ninety-Nines, and living and training in Western New York. Eligible counties include Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Niagara, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates.

We have a $2,000 scholarship  open to any woman in an aviation training program in Florida with at least a Student Pilot Certificate working toward a Private Pilot License or seeking a higher pilot certificate or rating. (Scholarship funds are paid directly to the flight school or instructor.)

The Georgia Flying Belles Chapter offers multiple scholarships throughout the year ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 awards on a Spring and Fall cadence.

This scholarship is offered to a Florida 99s Chapter member to be used for dual instruction for a Biennial Flight Review, Instrument Proficiency Check, toward a new rating or certificate, or ground and safety training. If using the scholarship toward the private certificate, a solo endorsement must have been accomplished.

Additional requirements:One attendance letter from a Chapter officer confirming the applicant has attended at least two Chapter meetings within the past 12 months. One of the recommendation letters must be from a flight instructor or someone with whom you have flown. Please include an additional logbook entry, if needed, to show currency (e.g., BFR; Rating checkride) or solo completion for student pilot (if not in last three logbook pages submitted). Your essay should also include: 1) the reason you became a 99; 2) your activities as a 99; 3) financial need; and 4) how you will use this scholarship. An interview, either in person or by phone, may be required.

Limitations:Must be a Florida resident Must be a current Florida Chapter member Funds must be used by November 30 in the year after the scholarship is awarded.

Other information:The winner will receive a 'Winner letter', and an 'Acceptance letter' to sign, and it MUST be returned within five days of being notified as the scholarship recipient. For the payment, the winner must submit 'Request For Payment' form provided by Florida Suncoast Chapter, to Treasurer via treasurer@flsuncoast99s.org. Our preference is to pay the flight school/instructor directly, but the winner may request an arrangement to reimburse the winner for flight costs they have paid. The winner is required to communicate with Florida Suncoast Chapter Chair and Treasurer and to share your training progress via email at least once a month until the scholarship funds have been completely dispersed. The Finger Lakes Chapter Scholarship is awarded to an active female pilot or female student pilot residing in the Finger Lakes Region or Western New York. The 2026 award is $3,500, and deadline to submit is in April. The 2026 Application deadline is April 14, 2026. Ask your Chapter Chair for more information or visit NY NJ 99s Scholarships.

On Course Scholarship: This scholarship is to provide women who live or train within the Eastern Idaho region with up to $2,000 toward flight training for milestones needed for any certificate or rating.  Applicants must: 1. Live or train within a 99 nm radius of the PIH VOR or within Eastern Idaho 2. Have the required written test completed (if applicable) 3. Be willing to participate in an interview, in person or via Zoom, shortly after the application deadline Final Approach Scholarship: This scholarship is to provide women who live or train within the Eastern Idaho region and are pursuing any new certificate or rating with up to $1,000 towards their check ride. Applicants must: 1. Live or train within a 99 nm radius of the PIH VOR or within Eastern Idaho 2. Have the required written test completed if applicable.

"Nancy Wells Award" Nancy [b1927 - d2019] (and husband Ray) was a committed supporter of women in aviation to help them achieve their goals; she joined the 99s in 1949 (before Australia had a Charter), flew their own Bonanza, hosted many guests and events at their Sydney home and donated a quilt to the Australian Section for fundraising. In 1984 the Australian Women Pilots' Association (AWPA) honoured her with the Nancy Bird Trophy for " the most noteworthy contribution to aviation by a woman in Australasia". Support was also garnered by funding and initiating the Nancy Wells Award in 1995.

Scholarship offers:  Max $500 to defray costs (by reimbursement) of aviation exam fees, study material and equipment associated with the attainment of licences or ratings required for a career or commercial involvement in aviation.

Criteria for scholarship Must be a Financial member of Austrailian Women Pilots' Association OR Financial member of Australian Section of The Ninety-Nines.

"Spirit of the WASP Aviation Scholarship" offers an award of up to $7,000 to a deserving recipient. The application is open to aspiring and continuing pilots. The funds will be managed by the Austin Hill Country Chapter and directly distributed to the flight school or instructor. The funds must be used for aviation training purposes only. The recipient must use the funds within one year from the award date. If any funds remain after the recipient completes their flight training, or if the funds are not used within one year and the recipient does not plan to pursue further certificates or ratings, the remaining funds will be returned to the chapter's scholarship fund. This scholarship is open to all applicants, with preference given to women residents of Central Texas.
