The Katharine Wright Memorial Trophy

The Katharine Wright Memorial Trophy was established in 1981 by the Gates Learjet Corporation and is awarded annually in partnership with the Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots.

Criteria:

The Katharine Wright Award is made annually to an individual who has contributed to the success of others or made a personal contribution to the advancement of the art, sport, and science of aviation and space flight over an extended period.

Additional information regarding Katharine Wright Trophy nominations:

  • Nominees must be either U.S. citizens or U.S. organizations.
  • The K. Wright Trophy Selection Committee is appointed annually by the President of the National Aeronautic Association.
  • Nominators and Awardees will be notified within three business days of selection. Ample time for travel will be provided, and if the awardee chooses not to attend or is unable to attend the awards ceremony, the NAA can ship the awards. Shipping and handling fees will apply.
  • The NAA reserves the right not to present an award if the Selection Committee determines that no candidate meets the intent of the award or the award criteria.
