International Headquarters
In 1973, the Board of Directors recognized the
need for a permanent headquarters building and in 1975 it became
a reality. Today, The Ninety-Nines International Headquarters
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has become a recognized repository
for resource materials on women in aviation and aerospace. These
include archival records, personal memorabilia, oral histories,
books, art, films, photographs and biographical files.
The Ninety-Nines have become the recognized
source of information regarding women in aviation. Researchers,
authors, playwrights, historians and curators come to The Ninety-Nines
for information available nowhere else. The Aviation Research
Library now contains over 600 volumes.
In 1988, the Headquarters facility was
expanded to twice its original size. The second story is the
site of our new 99s Museum of Women Pilots,
housing the library, the oral history video tapes, the Jessie
Woods Photo collection, as well as collections from Amelia Earhart,
Louise Thaden, Matilde Moisant, Grace Harris, Hazel Jones, Lucile
Wright, Jerrie Cobb, Edna Gardner Whyte, Jackie Cochran and so
much more.
